‘Cold snap' over
THE "Last Cold Snap" lived up to its name at the weekend as the Monto Festival had its final hurrah in June.
The next festival will be held in October 2014 to coincide with the Queen's Birthday long weekend.
Despite the cold and some rain, it was an exciting and fun weekend for everyone involved.
Dairy Festival Board president Judi Baldwin said she had nothing but positive feedback from the community.
"We're a new committee that had only been together for around 10 weeks but we have managed to make a great event," she said
On Friday night the Festival Princess was paraded at the ball.
Festival Queen went to Brianna Hockey, Alexis Hindmarsh was named Miss Personality and Laura Kling won the Community Vote. Brianna was honoured by the win.
"As a Monto girl I have grown up with the festival and always considered the Dairy Festival Princesses to be a highlight of the week," she said. "I entered the competition to support the festival and keep the tradition strong, which is especially important as the festival celebrated its 25th anniversary."
