Colours of Yarraman wraps up

THE week-long Colours of Yarraman garden festival wrapped up on the weekend with a special awards night and DIY garden tours.

Festival organiser Joe Stimpson said the week ran well.

"To start off with the rain was a highlight,” Mr Stimpson said.

"The jazz day was a success, we had about 60 people.

"The show and shine was a success, even with the weather. The markets went well. Everything was just really good.”

Mr Stimpson said the number of entries in the garden competition was high.

"The gardens were great for the weather we have had, coming out of a dry spell,” he said.

"The gardens were in relatively good condition.

"The number of entries was good for the weather, we got more than we thought we would because of the dry.”

Mr Stimpson said the festival would return next year, with some minor changes.

"We've started to plan it already,” he said.

"There are lots of little things that need to be improved, not major things, just different timing on when to run different events.”
