Company responds to South Burnett business wishlist
AS THE new year approaches, many people will be waiting in anticipation to see what new businesses are on the horizon for 2020.
It appears the top spot on the wishlist for many South Burnett community members involves browsing through the homewares, clothing or toy aisles in Kmart.
An overwhelming 66 per cent of South Burnett readers said Kmart was the business they wanted to come to the South Burnett next.
A Kmart spokesperson said a store in the South Burnett was not out of the question.
“We are always looking for new locations to bring people our everyday low prices, and that includes the South Burnett,” they said.
“At this time we have no announcements, however if this changes we will advise the community with a formal announcement.”
About 9 per cent of South Burnett readers said a Hungry Jack’s store would be handy, or even a Thai restaurant to give a few more takeaway options.
Other readers said businesses like Spotlight, 7-Eleven or a Mexican restaurant would be more than welcome to call the South Burnett home.
This year was a busy year with more than 16 businesses opening their doors in the South Burnett.
