POLICE are hunting a sex offender after he allegedly removed his electronic monitoring strap.
The last known location of Damien Kennedy, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to rape, was at Salisbury on Brisbane's south at 4.13pm yesterday.
Police were last night leading the search for Kennedy, while Queensland Corrective Services urged anyone with information on Kennedy's whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers.
"Kennedy appeared in the Brisbane District Court on 15 August 2008 in relation to the offences of rape and assault with intent to commit rape," their statement read.
The 28-year-old is described as having a fair complexion and is about 171cm tall with black hair and blue eyes.
He is clean shaven, weighs about 125kg and has a number of tattoos, including one on his inner right forearm which says "love & hate" and another on his right shin which depicts a Chinese demon.
According to a Supreme Court order made in 2016, Kennedy pleaded guilty in 2008 to one count each of rape, assault with intent to commit rape, stealing and fraud.
Documents reveal Kennedy was 18-years-old at the time of the crime, while his victim was a 49-year-old sex worker.
Kennedy was initially granted parole in January 2013, but has returned to custody on several occasions after testing positive to drugs.
He was being supervised under the Dangerous Prisoners Sexual Offenders Act 2003 when he allegedly removed the electronic monitoring strap.
