Council confirms roadworks in lead up to Christmas

SOUTH Burnett Regional Council has announced multiple upgrades will continue around the region in the lead up to Christmas.

Funded through the Queensland Government’s 2019/2020 Works, gravel sheeting works will continue in numerous places.

The upgrades are still in progress at Wattlegrove Rd, Benair and McCauley Broom Rd, Barker Creek Flat and will commence at Kunioon Rd, Kunioon this month.

The council said local access to properties will be permitted during the road upgrades.

Some other road upgrades happening across the region are the bitumen resealing works.

The council said they would continue resealing the roads in the region to rejuvenate and extend the life of the roads and streets.

Areas that will be affected during the resealing process are Benair, Boondooma, Chelmsford, Coolabunia, Crownthrop, Durong, Glenrock, Kingaroy, Maidenwell, Murgon, Nanango, Pimpimbudgee, Redgate and Speedwell.

Some property owners may experience restrictions to property access for short periods of time during the upgrades.
