Counting continues by the ECQ but no update

UPDATE:

The ECQ has responded and said it allowed returning officers to manage their own process as they saw fit.

A spokesman said some returning offices would enter results as they count, others might do it at the end of the day.

He said the processes were proceeding as planned.

EARLIER:

Tired of waiting for up-to-date election results? So are we.

So the South Burnett Times asked the Electoral Commission of Queensland why the results section of its website for our region has not been updated since 10pm on Saturday, but as of yet we have no answer.

In response to the query, the Electoral Commission said it would count votes every day this week until there was an election result.

A spokesman for the ECQ said the results would appear on the website as they are entered by polling staff. There was no answer as to why these results were not being currently updated.

Declarations of the result for each mayoral and divisional election will not made if there is a mathematical possibility that more than one candidate could win.

For more information on the process phone 1300 881 655.
