Country town rides into new year in style

RODEO fans will be bringing in the new year in style with competitions and entertainment in Goomeri this afternoon.

Junior riders started in the ring from 8am this morning at the National Rodeo Association affiliated event.

The town's annual New Year's Eve rodeo starts at 2pm on December 31 with pre-performance events before the main events get underway after 5pm.

The rodeo will be held at the Goomeri showgrounds with plenty to do for the whole family.

Muddy Flats will be performing live until late and there will be amusements for the kids.

Entry prices are $20 for adults, $15 for 12 to 17-year-olds and under 12s gain entry for free.

Family tickets, consisting of two adults and two children, are also available for $50.

There will also be a licensed bar and free camping at the event.
