Craig Thomson may face the music over lying to Parliament

DISGRACED former Labor MP Craig Thomson looks set to face a privileges committee inquiry into claims he may have misled parliament.

Mr Thomson was last week convicted of dishonesty charges over the use of union members' funds when he was a senior official in the Health Services Union.

In parliament last year, Mr Thomson made a speech where he denied the allegations, a denial that has been considered a potential misleading of parliament, given the recent court result.

Speaker Bronwyn Bishop in parliament on Monday indicated she would consider the claims, made by current Dobell MP, Liberal Karen McNamara.
