Property damaged in Wattle Camp fire

UPDATE, 12.15pm: A bushfire continues to travel in an easterly direction from Birch Road northeast of Memerambi Barkers Creek Road. 

People in the area need to keep up to date and decide what actions you will take if the situation changes.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.  

EARLIER, Monday 5pm: Queensland national park officers are putting in fire breaks as a preventative measure to stop the fire from spreading to parklands.

Crews are working to contain the northern side of the fire while the southern edge has been contained.    One shed caught alight and crews worked for 30 minutes to extinguish it. 

The crews were working on different fronts and landholders were assisting crews by putting in fire breaks making sure it didn't threaten properties. 

EARLIER, Monday 3.45pm: A BUSHFIRE is travelling in an easterly direction from Birch Road northeast of Memerambi Barkers Creek Road at Wattle Camp.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services responded to the fire at 1.50pm on Monday, November 26 and there are nine crews on scene.   No properties are under direct threat at this time.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
