Fire crews contain Runnymede blaze

UPDATE, 11AM: Almost a dozen crews are on the scene of a fire burning in Runnymede.

A QFES spokeswoman said when crews arrived just after 10am about two acres of land were on fire.

Crews contained the fire at about 10.50am.

They are now blackening the edges and making the area safe.

EARLIER, 10AM: QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Servcies has advised of a vegetation fire at 166 Scotts Lane, Runnymede.

Smoke may affect residents and motorists in the area.

Residents should close their doors and windows and keep medication close by if suffering from a respiratory condition.

Motorists should use caution and drive to conditions.

If you believe your property is under threat, you should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
