CRIME: 8 break-ins across the Burnett in one week

A NUMBER of homes and businesses throughout Murgon, Cherbourg and Wondai have fallen victim to break-ins, theft and property damage over a one week period.

Sometime between 7pm on February 15 and 8am on February 16, an unknown number of culprits smashed a window at a home on Macalister St, Murgon.

A business on MacAlister St, Murgon, fell victim to property damage sometime between 9am on February 16 and 2.30pm on February 19.

The culprit, or culprits, used a tool to open a window and went inside. Nothing appears to have been stolen, however police are investigating the incident.

A storage shed, also on MacAlister St, was damaged by unknown offenders.

Between 12am on February 16 and 4pm on February 17, the culprits damaged a lock on the doors. Police are investigating, however they believe nothing was taken from the shed.

Between 7.10am and 6pm on February 16, an unknown number of culprits went a property on Hoggs Rd, Charlestown and damaged a door to gain entry to the home.

Offenders allegedly stole car keys and various personal belongings before stealing a car from the house.

Police located the car in Cherbourg on February 17.

Three youths are being dealt with and investigations are continuing.

Between 10am February 17 and 10am February 18, unknown offenders forced entry to a house on Beattie St, Cherbourg, causing damage to a door.

Offenders then damaged property inside the house. Investigations are continuing.

Between 3.10pm on February 20 and 3.30pm on February 21, a man went to a house on Webster St, Murgon, and allegedly entered through an unlocked door and stole a number of personal items.

Police investigations are continuing.

On February 21around 2am, an unknown offender went to a home on South St, Wondai, and attempted to remove a screen from a window. Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.

An unknown number of offenders levered open a door at a property on Bond St, Moffatdale, between 4am on February 22 and 2.30pm on February 23.

The offenders stole various personal items and a set of keys before stealing a vehicle from a shed.

Police found the vehicle in Cherbourg on February 24, and investigations are continuing.
