A SNAPPY saltie attempting to take a bite out of a truck in Cahills Crossing recently caught the eye of Tommy Watkins.
Mr Watkins was travelling through Kakadu National Park with a couple of mates, when he saw a massive croc hanging out in the water with his mouth wide open.
"He was a big fella, he would have been close to four metres - the biggest one here," Mr Watkins said.
"We'd been watching him for a while. The croc was there, laying with its mouth open to get itself a feed - just fishing.
"The truck came through, and sparked him right up."
He said there were about 15 crocs in the small crossing.
"That's the most I've ever seen there. I was amazed at how many crocs were there.
"And it's the most tourists I've seen there at high tide, there'd be 50 or 60 people who saw the truck crossing."
Mr Watkins said he snapped the photo Wednesday last week, about 2.30pm, when the truck drove through from the Oenpelli side.
He stayed close the area afterwards, attempting to fish.
"We didn't catch anything."
