UPDATE: Customer steps in to stop alleged armed robber
A REGULAR at a Maryborough convenience store stepped in to help stop an alleged attempted arm robbery on Tuesday afternoon.
Walker Street Express manager Jig Patel said a staff member was threatened with a pair of scissors.
"It was one of our regulars," Mr Patel said.
"He walked in the shop and saw he was trying to threaten a staff member and he tried to stop him."
Police allege the man scratched the customer on the chest.
An 18-year-old Tinana man will appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon charged with attempted armed robbery, stealing and assault occasioning bodily harm.
