PIGS may not fly but on the Sunshine Coast they do pop-up.
Crystal the piglet is being paraded around the Coast to raise money for a father with severe skin cancer.
So far she has visited popular tourist destinations in Maroochydore, the Ginger Factory and Wappa Dam.
The daughter of the sick man Kirstie Henning said piglets were a great attraction.
"I have a lot of farm animals and the people just love piglets," Ms Henning said.
"Crystal is very cheeky and only seven weeks old. Full of character and is so cute.
"She likes to chase me around, chases all the other animals around and has plenty of toys.
"But she is actually very smart and can think ahead."
She said it had been an emotional time for the family.
"The melanoma is very large and on top of his head and the surgeons say they're unable to remove it," she said.
"It has progressed really quickly, spread to his liver, spleen and a few other nodes.
"We fear we might have to find other ways to help him.
"We will go to more natural alternatives if it doesn't work but they are $250-300 three times a week. And could go for six months.
