HORSE racing fanatic Christopher Winter has turned his love of the sport into a successful business.
The Dalby electrician started a Facebook page called Roughie King last July and started giving out free tips to his followers.
It wasn't until Rating Bureau racing analyst Chris Camilleri got in contact with Mr Winter and suggested he turn it into a business that the idea flourished.
Mr Winter said he was always interested in horse racing and noticed that he started to become more successful in his betting when he chose horses that were considered a long shot to win.
"We have received a great response. I think it is because not many businesses provide tips at longer odds," Mr Winter said.
"Chris liked the idea because it was unique.
"Professional tipsters have been around for years and I only tip horses that pay $8 or more so it's something different," he said.
The Roughie King website launched on March 1 this year and currently has 200 paid subscribers.
There is an app in the process and Roughie King merchandise will soon be available.
Mr Winter said he and Mr Camilleri spent up to 10 hours a week studying the horses.
"I study the horses by reading the form guide and watching replays of races," he said.
