Darren Lockyer coming to Captains dinner

DARREN Lockyer will be coming to Kingaroy for Relay for life's Dinner with the Captains in July.

Joining the former NRL great is tennis legend Evonne Goolagong Cawley and former Paralympian swimmer and current sports scientist Brendan Burkett.

Carl Rackemann made the announcement of the captains at the Mayors Breakfast this morning and said the Relay for Life committee was looking forward to the dinner.

"To say we are excited is an understatement," Mr Rackemann said.

Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said the dinner would be a fantastic event.

"The superstars of sport come because they have so much respect for Carl," Cr Kratzmann said.

Former local rugby league great and cancer survivor Eric Law was named the Face of this year's Relays for life and said he hoped he could do the role justice.

The dinner will be on Saturday, July 25 at the Kingaroy Town Hall at 6pm.

Tickets are $80 per person or $750 for a table of ten.

Included is a three course dinner and a cash bar and attire is semi-formal.
