JOYRIDERS in an allegedly stolen car have been caught on camera smashing into a driver, then fleeing the scene.

The video posted to Dash Cam Owners Australia shows an SV6 Commodore driving along a two-way road.

When the driver moves the car slightly to the right -- it is unclear if he is turning -- it is struck at high speed by a Ford Falcon.

The front of the car with the dash cam appears to strike the rear quarter of the speeding car, spinning it 180 degrees before it speeds away.

The person who posted the video said it was his brother in law's car involved.

"Falcon left its front bumper behind and was found burnt out two days later, so looks like my brother in law has to foot the bill for repairs (car is a write off)."
