Defects force closure of Ironpot bridge until further notice

FOR the safety of the community the South Burnett Regional Council have made the decision to close the Boughyard Creek Bridge on Ironpot Rd, Ironpot until further notice.

When carrying out routine inspections of all major drainage structures in the region the council identified a number of defects that could affect the integrity of the structure and in turn made the decision to close the bridge from Monday, October 14.

Replacement works on the bridge, funded through Council's 2019-20 capital renewal programme, are scheduled to commence in November 2019, with the woek expected to take approximately three months, weather permitting.

The council anticipates there will be minimal impact on the area given traffic have access the available side-track.

Motorists are requested to travel with extreme care, to drive to the prevailing road conditions and to adhere to signs.
