POLICE are investigating a string of thefts in the South Burnett.

Sometime between Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13 the Tingoora Hotel bottle shop was broken into and thieves made off with bottles of alcohol.

A few days later in the early hours of Tuesday, May 16 the bottle shop at Wondai's Warana Hotel was broken into and more alcohol was stolen.

A police spokesperson said the investigating officers were treating the two incidents as linked.

"We believe the vehicle used was a stolen vehicle which has since been located,” he said.

"We're making follow up enquiries and have a few leads.”

Police are appealing for public information to help with the investigation.
