Dodgy TV gets chilly reception

EIDSVOLD residents don't get too involved in a football game or a thriller on the television.

Television viewers there will tell you that free-to-air television stations are hit or miss at best.

Town resident Susan Kirwin said on Sunday there were no commercial channels, and a scratchy ABC.

"Been waiting all week to see an advertised topic on Sunday Night evening program and no reception," Mrs Kirwin said.

"Beyond upset, please help," she said.

Other Eidsvold residents have reported they have not had any free-to-air TV since the retune several weeks ago. Karen Bolanac lives just out of Eidsvold and said since the retune she hadn't had any reception at all.

Living right in town, Tom Towell said he had his antenna tuned and it had made no difference.

"Some days we get an excellent picture and then it just goes off," he said.

"Other days we only have the ABC. The system has been no good from the start."

North Burnett Regional Council has received complaints about the system since its inception, but an attempt to lift the aerials to fix the signal has failed to help.
