Warwick man remanded until Jan 21 over Gracemere incident
11am: A WARWICK man facing a number of charges in relation to an incident in Gracemere on Tuesday night where police discharged a firearm has been remanded in custody.
Ricky James Bauer appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning on 12 charges after he attended a Gracemere incident armed with a firearm about 9pm on Tuesday.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 21.
His charges include possessing dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property firearm or ammunition, serious assault of a police officer, unlawful possession of a firearm and wilful damage.
6.35am: A 41-YEAR-OLD Warwick man is expected to face Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning after he was arrested at gunpoint following a dramatic incident in Gracemere on Tuesday night.
Police were called to an address on Taramoore Rd about 9pm following reports of a disturbance.
Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow told media yesterday that police arrived to find the man armed with a rifle.
He allegedly threatened officers and as a result police fired a number of shots before taking him into custody.
No one was injured as a result of the shots.
The man was treated for minor cuts and abrasions and has been charged with threatening violence, serious assault, unlawful possess of firearm and possess drug.
Det Insp Shadlow said police believe the man was affected by drugs during the incident.
"The matter is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Branch in Rockhampton as well as the Ethical Standards Command, obviously conducting internal investigations after the police actions, so all of that will be scrutinised so I can't go into that much further," he said.
