Dramatic two-vehicle crash traps motorist in Mackay

FEARS of electrocution trapped one motorist involved in a dramatic two-vehicle crash in Ooralea.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the crash at the intersection of Boundary Rd and Crowleys Rd resulted in one car rolling into a drain, and powerlines becoming exposed.

Concerns about the powerlines slowed the rescue operation, he said, forcing one of the occupants to remain in their car.

Everyone involved was finally freed from the crash with only minimal injuries, the QPS spokesman said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said both drivers were eventually able to leave there vehicles. One was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
