Driver charged after viral dashcam video

A NANANGO man will face the magistrate charged with dangerous driving after his actions were caught on dashcam.

Police will allege a white Holden Commodore sedan was filmed on a dashcam overtaking a vehicle southbound along the D'Aguilar Highway, Coolabunia on Saturday, September 1.

The highway at the incident had one lane travelling in either direction and was separated by a broken white line.

The Holden Commodore allegedly pulled out to overtake the vehicle in front of it and almost collided head on with a third vehicle travelling northbound.

The third vehicle, which had a dashcam recording at the time, quickly swerved to evade the oncoming overtaking vehicle causing the northbound vehicle to drive off the side of the highway to avoid a crash, police will allege.

Police spoke to a 22-year-old Nanango man in regards to this incident on Sunday September 16.

He was issue with a notice to appear before Nanango Magistrates Court on October 25 for the dangerous driving offence.
