Driver opts out of explanation

A DISABLED man who was caught drink-driving told a judge he did not think anything he said would help his case.

Brian Leagh Cunningham, 59, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to driving a blue wagon on Wondai-Proston Rd while under the influence of alcohol.

Police prosecutor Pepe Gangemi told the Murgon Magistrates Court Cunningham's blood alcohol level was 0.102% on May 28.

Magistrate Graham Hillan asked Cunningham if he had anything to say to the court.

"I don't think it's gonna help me at all Your Honour," Cunningham said.

Mr Hillan fined Cunningham $500, disqualified him from driving for four months and recorded a conviction.
