Driver tries to run police car off the road on Capricorn Hwy

A VEHICLE being followed by police along the Capricorn Highway has just tried to run a police car off the road.

Reports indicate the vehicle was originally parked in the middle of the road on the Upper Dawson Rd with a male sitting in the driver's seat.

It is believed the vehicle took off from Upper Dawson Rd after it was approached.

Reports indicate a male is currently in police custody after it came to a halt east of Stanwell.

There have been no reports of erratic driving behaviour, but the vehicle may have run a red light.
