Driver's $1218 mistake on the D'Aguilar Highway
DRIVING at 165km in a 100km zone on the D'Aguilar Highway will cost a 20-year-old man dearly.
He copped a $1218 fine and eight demerit points, and had his car taken off the road for seven days.
Sergeant Andrew McDowell said the Burpengary man, who was intercepted by police at Gilla, was not only a danger to himself but to other road users as well.
"This speed was not only excessive but very dangerous,” Sgt McDowell said.
"A driver's reaction time needed to stop is greatly reduced when travelling at these speeds.
"I encourage every motorist to please think about their actions before getting behind the wheel.”
