Eade’s Suns being ‘bludgeoned’ by the injury stick

GOLD Coast's revolving door of player ins and outs will continue with more Suns added to the club's already lengthy injury list.

Defenders Rory Thompson (hip) and Adam Saad (hamstring) will both miss Saturday's clash with an in-form West Coast in Perth, joining Gary Ablett, Jaeger O'Meara, David Swallow, Nick Malceski, Jack Martin, Sam Day and suspended Steven May on the sidelines.

Key forward and vice-captain Tom Lynch is also in doubt with a corked calf.

Coach Rodney Eade said he only had about 20 players available to train yesterday.

"The injury stick is hitting us. It's not just hitting us; it's bludgeoning us at the moment. I think we're getting smacked," he said.

"Lucky the seconds haven't got a game this week. I'm not being silly, but they'd probably have to forfeit."

But, it's not all bad news for the 16th-placed Suns, with Harley Bennell, Trent McKenzie, Brandon Matera and Danny Stanley all available after serving a one-match ban for breaking club no-alcohol rules.
