SUNSHINE Coast residents are being urged to check their Saturday Gold Lotto tickets for a $2 million pay day.
Aussie News' owner Stephen Plang said the ticket holder is still a mystery.
"We have no idea at the moment but we have rung the Golden Casket who have confirmed it," he said.
"But we are not even sure if it was a registered ticket or not. We don't know if they were a Coast local or someone passing through.
"Absolutely we would hope they are a regular, this is amazing to hear."
The Sunshine Coast entry was one of two Division One winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3781 on 14 October 2017. Each took home a division one prize of $2,008,468.44.
Mr Plang said it was the first time his Palmview store had sold a winning division one ticket.
"This is the first time we have sold the division one in its own right," he said.
"This is a great news and we are so excited. We have participated in syndicate winners but this is our first.
"Over $2m is a big, big pay out for Saturday lotto. It can be as low as $200k sometimes."
Golden Casket spokesman Matt Hart said he was eager to confirm the Division One news with the Sunshine Coast's newest multi-millionaire and urged all Gold Lotto players to check their tickets as soon as possible.
"Our winner could be completely unaware that they are now a multi-millionaire. I'm sure the news would immediately cure any Mondayitis they might be feeling today!" an excited Mr Hart said.
"You may not think it's possible that you are the division one winner we're looking for, but if you purchased a an entry in the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto draw that you haven't checked yet, you're in with a chance.
"We're urging all players to check their entries as soon as possible and if you discover you are holding the registered division one winning ticket to contact Golden Casket on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize."
