Easter outlook: What to expect for a backyard BBQ

BE IT looking up from the backyard or out the window longingly, the Sunshine Coast will bask in "tantalising" conditions over the Easter long weekend.

But with lockdown restrictions in full swing from the coronavirus pandemic, residents will be forced to think of other days to spend the break.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Shane Kennedy said showers were predicted for the region leading up to Easter.

"The Coast had some good falls around this morning, between 10-2mm with 27mm the peak at Bribie Island," Mr Kennedy said.

"We're expecting those coastal showers to continue for a day or two, at least 5-10mm falls.

"By Saturday, there might be an early shower but clear up with only a 10 per cent chance of showers for Sunday.

"So the weather will be a bit tantalising."

Temperatures will also warm up to the mid-high 20Cs then 28C over the weekend.
