EASTER WEATHER: What to expect for the long weekend

THIS Easter long weekend the South Burnett can expect a slight drop in temperature and some rainfall.

WeatherZone meteorologist Jacob Cronje said the maximum temperature would drop to around 25 degrees, a bit below average for this time of the year.

"Good Friday will generally be pretty dry with a high of 25 degrees,” he said.

"It should be mostly sunny and partly cloudy. There will also be some easterly winds around. Nothing over 25km/h though.

"The showers and thunderstorms will also be more easterly, around the Ipswich area. The South Burnett will most likely miss out on rain on Good Friday.”

However, there is a high chance of rainfall continuing through the remainder of the Easter long weekend.

"Saturday will be a bit colder with temperatures getting down to around 12-13 degrees. It won't feel much colder than around 15 degrees though as the easterly winds add to the air's humidity,” Mr Cronje said.

"The storms we're seeing are going to start heading towards the west on Saturday. So there is the chance of showers Saturday afternoon and evening.

"Sunday and Monday will be mostly cloudy with the chance of getting 5mm in rainfall each day.

"The temperatures will become even more mild with a high of around 24 degrees on Monday.”

Showers will not linger, with the weather forecast to clear up by Tuesday morning.
