EB Games sorry over 'cocaine' Grand Theft Auto promo

EB Games staff at Southport's Australia Fair used the fizzy white candy powder sherbet to simulate lines of the illicit drug on the store counter as fans of the popular video game flocked to buy its new release.

In a statement, EB Games apologised for the move.

"Regrettably, one of our EB Games store locations in Queensland set-up an unauthorised display within the store in support of the launch of the Grand Theft Auto V video game," spokeswoman Debra McGrath said.

"The display included a white powdery substance that appeared to be some form of an illegal drug.
