Effects of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Winston hit the South Burnett

EFFECTS of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Winston are expected to be felt in the South Burnett this week.

Weatherzone meteorologist Jacob Cronje said remains of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Winston caused rainfall to push in from the Queensland coast and move inland.

He said Kingaroy and surrounding areas should expect "fleeting" rainfall all week, and occasional thunderstorms.

The Weatherzone meteorologist said showers were very likely today and tomorrow, and wet weather would continue into the weekend.

Mr Cronje expected the wet weather to ease on Sunday, and make way for a dry and warm next week.

He also expected Autumn to bring relief after a dry summer season.

"The El Nino should weaken and rainfall should return to normal," he said.

While wet weather was forecast ahead, Mr Cronje said it would unlikely be heavy rainfall.

He also expected temperatures to stay in the high 20s this week and into next.
