Emergency water restrictions in Kingaroy

UPDATE 3:00pm

The water restrictions have been lifted following the repair of a broken water main.

However, Mayor Wayne Kratzmann has urged people to use water wisely.

"We just ask everyone to conserve water this weekend to allow it to catch up," Cr Kratzmann said.

UPDATE 11:40am

An update on the South Burnett Council Facebook page advised the water main has been fixed and water has been turned back on.

Water restrictions in Kingaroy still remain in place.

COUNCIL has imposed temporary emergency water restrictions for the Kingaroy town area today as a result of repair works on a broken mains water pipe on Haly Street.

A council spokesperson said the CBD will be without water for a short time.

South Burnett Regional Council request that water use be restricted to internal use and essential external use only.

Watering of gardens and lawns in Kingaroy is currently not permitted.
