Endeavour's Kingaroy Kitchen reveals tantalising bacon treat
THE pressure has been on in the Endeavour Foundation's Kingaroy Kitchen where the team has been slaving away to perfect a range of top-secret products ahead of Kingaroy BaconFest.
But acting general manager Paul Lowe has let one secret slip, revealing a new product, Bacon Chilli Chutney, would soon be tantalising tastebuds.
"We were approached by the BaconFest committee because they wanted to have more of a focus on local meals and condiments, as well as the local pork and bacon produce," Mr Lowe said.
If the results of the product's first taste testing at the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival are anything to go by, the condiment has hit the mark.
"It sold out at the festival, and everyone was pleased with not only the jam itself, but also the way it was presented," he said.
Mr Lowe said the team was also working on some other flavours, but they were "top secret".
However, he said after the success of the chutney at the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, he knew they were going to be popular.
"It's great to be working with BaconFest as it brings awareness to the region, what we do with SunPork as our biggest employer, and now us too," he said.
Make sure to find the tasty offerings from the Endeavour Foundation at BaconFest, from August 23 to 25.
