Event attracts players from across the region

THE region's best golf players were on course in Blackbutt on Saturday for the club's opening day three-person ambrose.

Geoff Partridge, Glen Bell and Bradyn Green were the strongest team of the day securing the win with 57.16 nett in a field of 63 players.

J Brewood, I Timms and G De Roo with 59 nett were the runners-up followed by Barry Nugent, John Nugent and Ian Jones on 60.66 nett.

Anthony Beutel, Tony Green and Dawn Reiser finished in fourth on 60.66 nett followed by Steve Knutsen, Bill Bool and Murray McGee 61.13 nett.

The ambrose attracted players from Esk, Toogoolawah, Goomeri, Murgon and Wondai to the Blackbutt course.

The club's monthly medal will be played on Saturday, February 9.

Blackbutt's men's carnival, sponsored by Super IGA Nanango, will be contested on Sunday, February 17, with a double shotgun start at 8am and 12.30pm.
