ALL THE MISS BACONFEST PHOTOS: 'Everyone is beautiful'

CONFIDENCE was key to Barbie Banks being crowned Miss BaconFest 2019.

In her first pageant Alicia Altin, known as Barbie Banks, took to the stage, in her bacon and eggs inspired dress, and loved entertaining the crowd.

"The weather has been amazing, the festival has been amazing and everyone has been so friendly and helpful," she said.

"I am absolutely stoked and I can't wait to tell mum!"

Ms Altin, who performs burlesque in Brisbane, heard about the event through the host Bettie Butcher and embraced the chance to try something different.

"The principle is the same, we are wearing false lashes and on stage, but apart from that it is really fun, family friendly and inclusive," she said.

Mya Dia Monte was named runner-up while Miss Maizie May was sashed Miss Ba-conginiality as voted by her fellow entrants.

Audrey Azure returned to Kingaroy as Miss BaconFest 2018 and was proud to be a part of the event.

"She got on that stage, she knew what she was going to do and she did it," she said.

"The event itself has doubled and it just keeps getting better and better."

The pageant is more than just about the entrants on stage but the message for the crowd according to Ms Azure.

"For the young ones in the audience I hope they get a sense of inclusiveness with all types, walks of life and body types and to see them up on stage and that everyone is beautiful," she said.
