IF you've ever come across a post that you have an emotional reaction to, but the like button doesn't seem appropriate, then you'll be happy with Facebook's new emojis.

Facebook is now giving users the option to choose between Like, Love, Haha, Wow Sad or Angry.

All you have to do is hold down the "like" button on mobiles or hover over the icon on desktops, to find the expanded menu.

Facebook product manager Sammi Krug said it would help people quickly express how they feel.

The tech giant conducted global research for more than a year before rolling it out today.

"We looked at how people are already commenting on posts and the top stickers and emoticons as signals for the types of reactions people are already using to determine which reactions to offer," Ms Krug said.
