Australian farm output to pass $60 billion next year
AUSTRALIA'S farm production is set to pass $60 billion for the first time in the 2016-17 financial year.
ABARES has made the assessment at its annual Outlook conference in Canberra.
Its data showed the total value of farm production was set to rise 3% next fiscal year after a 9% rise to $58.7 billion this year.
Exports earnings from cotton this year are expected to jump 22%, canola 13% and slaughter cattle 9%.
Mutton is expected to fall 11%, lamb 3% and beef and veal 4%.
