Firefighters monitor two South Burnett blazes

FIREFIGHTERS are responding to a grass fire along the Bunya Highway today.

The grass fire is at 9357 Bunya Highway at Benair.

The fire was first reported at 11.15am this morning and currently has one crew on site.

Smoke may affect residents and motorists in the area and residents are urged to keep windows and doors closed.

Meanwhile, QFES crews are also monitoring a bushfire at Mount Stanley.

Nearby residents are urged to stay informed as firefighters work with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service crews and local landholders to contain the fire.

As of 10.50am on Sunday, December 8 a large bushfire is burning in the vicinity of Landcruiser Mountain Park.

Anyone who has left the area should not return until they are advised it is safe to do so.

People in the area are urged to stay up to date and decide what they will do if the situation changes.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which may reduce visibility and air quality.

Properties in the area are not under direct threat at this time, but the area is still unsafe.

Campers and residents are asked to listen to the advice of authorities.
