Firies brace for fire danger
FIREFIGHTERS are on alert ahead of Thursday's very high fire danger.
Queensland Rural Fire Services are also bracing for tonight's forecast storm.
Kingaroy Area Commander Mark Long said the dry lightning expected tonight could create "a few problems".
Last week the region's firefighters were kept busy attending fires at Cloyna and Elgin Vale.
On Tuesday a fire at Bicks Rd, Cloyna was contained on the same day.
At Elgin Vale another fire, which also started burning on Tuesday, was handed back to the land owner on Thursday.
But Mr Long said it continued to be monitored by the fire service.
He said no new fire incidents had been reported since Wednesday.
