GLADSTONE girl Whitney-Rae Freyling isn't afraid of hard work.

The fitness fanatic and dance enthusiast has just taken the title of Miss V8 Supercar competition in Rockhampton and now has her sights set on the Gold Coast title.

Later this month the 23-year-old will travel to the Gold Coast 600 to try her luck in the competition.

"I think the key to winning is confidence," Whitney said.

Whitney moved from the Gold Coast to the boom town 14 months ago and said she was glad to call Gladdy home.

"This is my home now. I really like the people and the friends I have made up here," she said.

Whitney said her work at ASN and Snap Fitness in Gladstone may help her chances in the upcoming comp.

"They are going for a more athletic, curvy look this year," she said.

"I used to do competitions for a bit of fun; now I do them because it's more about my fitness."
