Five charged after Nanango Police drug operation

POLICE have seized 37 mature cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than $90,000 as part of coordinated raids within the Nanango area.

Officers from Nanango, Yarraman and Blackbutt took part in a coordinated operation which included search warrants on properties in the Nanango Police Division.

Five people have been charged on a range of drugs and weapons offences and will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court at a later date.

Nanango officer-in-charge Sergeant Jason Newton said most of the plants were more than two metres in height.

"This is a great outcome and demonstrates our commitment to community safety and the removal of dangerous drugs from our streets," Sgt Newton said.
