Five things to do in South Burnett this week
1. Goomeri Pumpkin Festival
Saturday and Sunday
A SEA of people will be in Goomeri this weekend for the town's annual pumpkin festival.
This year's festival will be the biggest to date, with festivities extending from Thursday to Sunday.
Sunday will be the biggest day of the festival, with activities from 8am to 4pm including pumpkin bowls, the pumpkin pageant, pig races, pumpkin shot put and the famous pumpkin roll.
2. Nanango Races
PUNTERS will flock to Nanango's racing carnival on Saturday.
The fashions on the field theme of 'fab furs, pearls and braces' is sure to get people in the spirit of the races.
The action on the track is set to be fierce with the Battle of the Bush qualifier.
Former trainer Peter Moody will be on track this Saturday for the qualifier.
3. Musical afternoon
ENJOY an afternoon of country music at the Senior Citizens Centre from 1-3pm.
John Abbott will entertain the crown on guitar and vocals.
Entry is by gold coin donation and afternoon tea will be provided.
4. Showcase your talent
CHERBOURG footy players will have the chance to showcase their potential for rugby sevens as selectors visit the town from 10.30am to 12.30pm as part of the Dream Big Time tour.
5. Nanango Campdraft
Friday, Saturday and Sunday
THE Nanango Campdraft starts on Friday and runs throughout the weekend.
Riders of all ages will be aiming for top performances in the event.
There will be live entertainment at the Nanango Showgrounds on Saturday night, plus a multi-draw raffle.
