Five things to do in the South Burnett this weekend

1. Parkrun turns two

The South Burnett running community will be celebrating the second birthday of Wondai Parkrun.

Runners are encouraged to wear blue and orange for the special occasion for the 5km event on the rail trail.

2. Cricket

Saturday

The regions cricketers will be back at the crease this weekend.

In B-grade the Services will play Wondai at Taabinga State School, Murgon will host Kumbia at the town's showgrounds, the Timbertowners will travel to Nannango Sports Ground and Cherbourg will play Kallindale at Kingaroy State School.

In A-grade the South Burnett teams will host their Gympie opposition.

At Lyle Vidler Oval the Devils will take on the Colts and in Murgon the Crusaders will take on the Valleys.

3. Get active

Sunday

The South Burnett mountain bike club is encouraging riders who are looking to improve their fitness in 2019 to join the club's ride this weekend.

Riders will be meeting at 6.30am in Wooroolin on Sunday opposite the cafe.

The 30km ride will be on bitumen, dirt, the rail trail to Tingoora and returning to Wooroolin.

4. Support South Burnett artists

Saturday and Sunday

The Kingaroy Art Gallery will be open from 9am-1pm on the weekend for the public to view the gallery's Summer Bazaar exhibition which features a range of works from watercolours to sculptures.

5. Catch a movie

Saturday and Sunday

There is something for the whole family to enjoy at the Kingaroy Satellite Cinema with screenings on Mary Poppins Returns, Aquaman, Ralph Breaks the Internet and How to Train Your Dragon across the weekend.
