Five things to do this weekend
1. GO TO THE THEATRE
THE Nanango Theatre Company's latest play, Amdram is Murder, will premiere on Friday night, June 1, at the Playhouse in Elk St at 7.30pm. It's a murder mystery with a twist. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for concessions. There will be a Saturday performance from 3pm and two the following weekend.
2. VISIT AN ART GALLERY
THE Wondai Art Gallery will open its June exhibition at 6pm on Friday night. Core Of My Heart, My Country is a body of work from the private collection of Brian Tucker. Recent work from the Barambah Pottery Group and the Yidding Arts Group will be in the rear gallery, as well as work from Rocko Langton and Maurice Mickelo.
3. BUY A BARGAIN
THE monthly Nanango Markets are on this Saturday at the town's Showgrounds. Gates open shortly before daybreak. Have a wander, find a good deal and stock up on fruit and vegies for your home.
4. RIDE A BIKE
THE Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association will run its first Two Bakeries Bike Ride between Yarraman and Benarkin. The ride starts at 8am in Benarkin. The total distance covered will be 48km and it costs $10 to enter. Search for the group on Facebook for more details.
5. SUPPORT A SCHOOL
THE Proston State School P&C is holding a charity auction from 5.30pm at the Town Hall in Rodney St. Money raised will pay for part of the Year 6 Canberra Trip. The P&C has collected a range of great prizes.
