Footballer shares nutrition tip for good health
STICKING to a good diet by relying on fruits and vegetables for nutrition is key to being a good sportsman.
That's what footballer and Murgon Fruit Mart owner Paul Brunjes believes.
"Fruits and vegetables give you everything you need,” Mr Brunjes said.
"If you're training and trying to up your fitness, you'll be able to hold a healthier lifestyle longer if you match it with a healthy diet.”
According to Mr Brunjes, eating healthier and incorporating fruits and vegetables into your diet will help improve your performance, especially leading up to games.
"Obviously the night before a competition it won't change things too much, but even right before it, a banana on hand will help pick up your game,” he said.
"I preach to the team about bananas.”
Mr Brunjes said it was also important for people who weren't part of the sporting community to build healthy habits as well.
"Being in a routine of cooking healthy meals is rewarding, but it can be hard when you're busy, however when you actually get to doing it, it doesn't actually take that much time,” he said.
"It's a big lifestyle habit, rushing all day and wanting to relax when we get home, but it's something you can change if you have a taste for good food.”
