MURGON hosted star rugby league talent this weekend as 350 players from around Queensland came for the central division 47th Battalion carnival.

A total of 16 teams from across Queensland competed in the Under 18s and Under 20s competitions to showcase their skills in front of talent scouts for their chance at the next level of the sport.

Murgon club member Scott Prendergast said it was an honour for the club to host the carnival.

"This is representative footy of a very high calibre,” he said.

"It's played in the right spirit.”
