Get behind huge show of support for Ackerman family today

A MAJOR fundraiser  is hoped to raise some serious money for the Ackerman Family Trust Fund set up to support late Sunshine Coast Falcons prop James Ackerman's young family.

Ackerman passed away in hospital after injuries suffered in a game against Norths on June 20.

Since then a tremendous groundswell of community support has developed, culminating in today's lunch held at the Norths Leagues Club and supported by a monster online raffle.

Channel Nine personality Karl Stefanovic will MC the afternoon's events, featuring guest speakers Wayne Bennett, Craig Bellamy and Rupert McCall.

With the events expected to run at close to zero cost, it will be a case of maximum dollars being raised directly for the Ackerman family.

Some huge items are also up for grabs in the Monster Raffle including tickets to the Gabba Test on November 7, memorabilia signed by Kelly Slater and State of Origin tickets on offer.

To register and buy tickets for the Monster Raffle to support the family of the hugely respected, hard working forward, head to ackers8.com.au

To donate directly to the Ackerman Family Trust Fund deposit to: Bank of Queensland, BSB: 124 001, Acc No: 1150 0777, Ref No: 151 181
