Get involved with Brother's breast cancer competition

PRINTER and sewing machine manufacturer Brother is teaming up with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to marry sewing and the fight against cancer.

In the lead up to Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Brother is reaching out to the community and inviting crafters and sewing enthusiasts to create a limited edition 2016 Pink Ribbon Breakfast apron.

In the process, they hope to both raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

Here's how to enter. Create your own pink apron and upload a 'before' and 'after' photo to the Brother Inspires website and either send in the apron to the NBCF directly for judging or drop it off at the nearest participating dealer.

Entries will be judged by Pink Ribbon Breakfast ambassadors Kate Cebrano and 4 Ingredients cookbook author Kim McCosker.

The top 20 aprons will be signed by Kim and Kate and used as fundraising prizes at Pink Ribbon Breakfast events throughout October and November with the grand prize winner to receive a high tea experience valued at $500.

All aprons entered into the competition will be used by NBCF to support fundraising efforts towards breast cancer research.

The competition is already open but will cut off on September 21, 2016.

Dr Sarah Hosking, CEO of NBCF, thanked Brother for their generous, ongoing support.

"On behalf of everyone at NBCF and all the women and men affected by breast cancer, thank you so much for your support. Your commitment makes a huge difference," she said.

All competition details, list of participating dealers, as well as terms and conditions can be found on the Brother Inspires website or by clicking here.
