Gift of a car for the gift of life
Ken Mills knows first hand just how important the services RACQ CareFlight Rescue provides are.
In January 2011 his grandson Tyler Favier, then 11-years-old, was suffering from Ketoacidosis, a life threatening condition associated with type one diabetes.
CareFlight transferred him from Kingaroy Hospital to the Mater Children's Hospital where he remained in intensive care for three days.
"We supported (CareFlight) prior to that but when you see someone close to you use the service, you realise how valuable the service is to a community such as the South Burnett," Mr Mills said.
The Toyota dealer has car yards in Kingaroy, Mundubbera and on the Sunshine Coast and today the group donated a $30,000 car to CareFlight at the Maroochydore dealership.
The car will be used to assist CareFlight's operations throughout the region to support fundraising initiatives and community events.
